On Monday, March 17, a four-hour training session was held in Ljubljana for women working in the energy sector, particularly those navigating predominantly male work environments. The event took place in a relaxed and empowering atmosphere at the beautiful venue of Ruska dača in Zgornje Gameljne.
Participants shared their experiences and challenges related to joining discussions, voicing ideas, and stepping into leadership roles. The training was organized within the framework of the EUWES – Empowering Underrepresented Women in the Energy Sector project, co-funded by the European Union under the CERV programme, in collaboration with the national support group ONA VE, a network of female experts.
The event opened with a presentation of the EUWES project and its recommendations, delivered by Katjuša Šavc from the environmental organization Focus. The main part of the training was led by Nastja Mulej, an expert in creative thinking, a certified de Bono trainer, and an experienced facilitator of workshops focused on confident communication.
Through a series of interactive exercises, participants explored internal barriers to expressing their viewpoints, practiced confident communication and public speaking, and learned how to claim space in conversations and meetings. They also shared concrete, real-life examples from their professional experiences.
The workshop helped foster greater self-confidence, deeper mutual understanding, and stronger connections among participants — marking an important step toward a more inclusive and equitable energy sector.
