Meeting of the Ombudswoman

Meeting of the Ombudswoman with representatives of the Society for Sustainable Development Design (DOOR) within the “EUWES” EU project

The Ombudswoman for Gender Equality met with representatives of the Society for Sustainable Development Design (DOOR) to discuss the EU project “Empowering underrepresented women in the energy sector” (EUWES), which is led by DOOR.

The project primarily addresses the issue of underrepresentation of women in managerial positions in the corporate sector of energy companies, with a focus on suppliers, but also the overall underrepresentation of women in the energy sector at all levels. During the meeting, DOOR representatives, Sanda Brumen and Anja Vulinec, briefly presented the main objectives and work activities that will be implemented as part of the project. The meeting also involved discussions on current topics such as the impact of energy poverty on women and the influence of ecological and climate crises on women.

Representatives of the Ombudswoman for Gender Equality were present at the meeting, including the Ombudswoman’s advisors, Irena Sarta and Hana Bogović, who welcomed the implementation of the EUWES project and other gender equality-related activities of DOOR. They expressed the Ombudswoman’s willingness to potentially collaborate on the project.
